Corporate Gifts

Corporate gifts to Wayne State University help advance research and academic programs, provide crucial scholarship support, and develop the next generation of professionals and leaders in health care, business, non-profit organizations, government and the arts, as well as Detroit’s most innovative start-ups.

  • Wayne State University has a robust research enterprise. In 2011, the university had research expenditures of nearly $260 million. The Carnegie Foundation has designated Wayne State as a university with very high research activity, a classification shared by less than 3 percent of universities nationwide.
  • Nearly 29,000 students attend Wayne State, engaged in learning through more than 370 academic programs.
  • 75 percent of Wayne State alumni live and work in Michigan.
  • Community engagement is an essential part of the university's mission. Numerous programs connect Wayne State students, faculty and staff with the people and vibrant culture of the city of Detroit.

The Corporate Philanthropy team develops relationships—some of which have been in place for generations—that benefit the individual businesses and industries, as well as the academic missions of the schools and colleges throughout Wayne State.
